Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Susan's Scribbles. I have been enjoying other art blogs for many months and am just finally getting this one set up. I will start by showing some of the things I have been working on lately. Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments.

These three sketches were inspired by the group Classical Figure Drawing. I joined this group in hopes that I could overcome my fear of drawing people! I need a great deal of practice but am pleased with the results so far.

I will post some leg studies a bit later. As time goes by the group will be doing studies of various areas of the body and, in time, I hope to be much more comfortable with it. One of the biggest benefits I can see already is that these exercises are forcing me to really look and "see" what I am drawing, as opposed to drawing what we think we should see.

One last quick piece for today. This is a quick watercolor of my boys. They were working on their own artwork while we were vacationing in Eureka, California, last summer.

Thanks for stopping by!

Looks good, Susan! I've been very impressed with your "feet" drawings--the class must be coming along very well.

Enjoying looking at your work. THe walking feet from behind study I especially liked. Is this class free or did you sign up and pay through a paypal acct? I don't really understand how to work my way around sites like that one.
Anyway, love your postings thus far.

The last of the feet drawings is very tender. Lots of affection comes through.
